Sabbath with the Maestro Herbert Blomstedt

Herbert Blomstedt is conductor laureate of the San Francisco Symphony. During his decade at the helm of the SFS (1983–95), he led the symphony to wide recognition. On Sabbath, March 31, 2001, members of the Spectrum Advisory Council worshiped with Blomstedt in San Francisco. This informal forty-five minute video is based on a presentation by him and on an interview, both of which took place during the service. Among other subjects, Maestro Blomstedt discusses his upbringing as an Adventist, offers insights into the distinguishing characteristics of quality music, and talks about his favorite theologians.
